VISA SCHEME
4773. SHRIMATI MANEKA SANJAY GANDHI:
Will the Minister of External Affairs be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is considering to create a special visa scheme for the doctors and nurses to travel to neighbouring countries in case of emergencies;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the details of the countries for which special visa to doctors and nurses will be granted?

(a) to (c) The Prime Minister addressed a workshop on "Covid-19 Management: Experience, Good Practices and Way Forward” with health leaders, experts and officials of 10 neighbouring countries viz. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Mauritius, Nepal, Pakistan, Seychelles, Sri Lanka along with Indian officials and experts, on 18 February 2021. During the address, Prime Minister suggested to the participants for creating a special visa scheme for doctors and nurses, so that they can travel quickly within the region during health emergencies, on the request of the receiving country.
