Launch of Greek-Indian Economic Forum & Little Guru Sanskrit Learning App and Baisakhi Festival celebrations were organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Athens (April 2021)

(I) In association with the Greek-Indian Business Association (GIBA), the first online English newsletter “Greek-Indian Economic Forum” was launched on 27 April. (ii) The Little Guru Sanskrit Learning App was launched in Greece in an virtual event on 29 April. In his address, Ambassador expressed his happiness at launching the event in the year when India has commenced celebrations of 75 years of Independence. A renowned Indologist and Sanskrit teacher, Dr. Dimitrios Vassiliadis also addressed the participants in Greek impressing upon the participants on the importance of Sanskrit. Video message of DG, ICCR on the launch of the App was also played during the programme. CEO and founder of Little Guru App also joined the event. (iii) Ladies of the Mission celebrated the Baisakhi Festival on 13 April

IDY celebrations & unveiling of statue of Mahatma Gandhi by Hon'ble EAM organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Athens (June 19-26, 2021)

1. The inaugural event was organised at the iconic Zappeion Megaron in association with local Yoga schools; 2. An event was organised at Marathona Run Museum in the historic town of Marathona, popularly known as the origin place of 'marathon' race; 3. A film on Sahaj Yoga “Grihalakshmi – The Awakening” in English language with Greek subtitles was screened on Embassy’s social media; 4. A local yoga centre was roped in to showcase a short video film “Basic Yoga for Healthy Life”; 5. A short film by Isha Foundation entitled “Yoga for Well-being & Immunity” was screened; 6. IDY documentary “Yoga Aligning to the Source” was screened on the social media platforms of the Embassy; 7. A short video on “Advanced Yoga for healthy Life” by a local yoga centre was screened; 8. IDY documentary “Yoga for the World” was screened on the social media platforms of the Mission. Hon’ble EAM unveiled the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at a prominent place, just in front of the Embassy of India, along with his Greek counterpart and Mayor of the City of Athens

'Indian Cultural & Dance' evening at India House on 15.08.2021

A cultural event was held at the India House at which H.E. Mr. Themistoklis Demiris, Secretary General of Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs was the 'Guest of Honour'. Diplomatic corps from Asian region (Bangladesh, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam) and Prominent Indian and Greek nationals were present at the event. On this occasion, a book on “Indian Traditional Music” written by a notable Greek national Mr. Konstantinos Kalaitzis, covering the aesthetic nature of Indian classical and folk music, Indian traditional musical instruments and various forms of dances (Classical and folks) of India was released by the Ambassador. The first copy of the book was received by the 'Guest of Honour'. The book is a result of years of research and travel to India to various places by Mr. Kalaitzis. Mr. Konstantinos Kalaitzis and his group rendered classical songs and music of India through flute and sitar. A Bharatnatyam presentation was performed by a Greek national, Mr. Achilleas Kouris and Bhangra Punjabi dance was performed by a group of local Sikh community artists.
