Events on Culture, History, Cuisine and Education organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Paris (April 2021)

Given the ongoing confinement due to COVID-19 in France, Embassy of India in Paris conducted online events to promote India@75. Social media platform was used for cultural performances including Manipuri dance by renowned French dancer Angela Sofia Sterzer, glimpses of the "Youth Window Paris - Imphal", performances of "Festival Mehfil" telecast in collaboration with Taal Tarang, and performances by a French Odissi exponent Ms. Mahina Khanum, and eminent Bharatnatyam exponent Ms. Martine Métayer. In continuation of our Freedom Chronicles, we featured Tantya Bhil, Abbas Tyabji, C. Rajagopalachari, and Jyotibha Phule in personalities along with important locations and events during the freedom struggle such as Satyagrah, Jallianwala Bagh and Moirang. Based on a survey conducted, a campaign on North-eastern cuisine was undertaken, where one dish from each state was showcased. For Ambedkar Jayanti, a quiz competition and a photo exhibition were conducted. For Mahavir Jayanti, Embassy gave patronage to an event organized by INFRA Association. As part of World Heritage Day, movies made available by Film Division were circulated. A week for environment was celebrated during the Leaders Summit on Climate; this included broadcasting of environment-related videos in French. Lastly, to showcase India-France space relationship, a special video message by CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall was recorded and shared on all platforms.

Various IDY celebration events were organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Paris (June 01-21, 2021)

1. Mission started Yoga Month. Every day in local language interesting facts and information on Yoga was released in the form of creatives and infographics. Mission organised various Physical and Virtual events to celebrate IDY 2021; 2. special video series by Mr. Kiran Vyas was started; 3. In association with Heartfulness, various webinars, conferences, masterclass and round table were organised and indologists like Colette Poggi spoke during the event. Local media also covered the event widely and an article was published in a reputed yoga journal. Due to covid restrictions physical events were allowed with limited public. 4. Yoga was organised with various associations across France in more than 6 cities. Yoga session was organised at the iconic place like les invalides in Paris; 5. SRMD, ISHA foundation and SAHAJ Yoga in association with the Embassy organised virtual sessions of Yoga. Mission launched a dedicated page for Yoga day www.eoiparis.gov.in/ yoga.html. Further mission organised online quiz and photography competition for the larger audiences.
