Cultural event and Talks during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by HCI, Suva (March 2021)

i) Talk about the achievements of India and India’s contribution to the development of Fiji. ii) Short documentaries on India @ 75 and Atma Nirbhar Bharat were also screened. iii) Kathak and Bhangra dance.

Weekly Kirtan Programme, Baisakhi Day Celebration , Easter Utsav Celebration and ICCR Foundation Day (ICCR) organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Addis Ababa (April 2021)

i) SVCC, Suva in collaboration with Fiji TV launched a weekly Kirtan Programme on their TV Channel as a premier Indian Devotional Music Show to mark India@75. In this connection dance items were recorded by the Kathak students of SVCC. The shooting was arranged at SVCC premises on 11th April, 2021. ii) Baisakhi Day Celebration was organized by Sikh Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee at Sikh Temple, Samabula, Suva on Wednesday 14 April 2021. AHC spoke about the celebrations being planned for India@75. iii) India Fiji Friendship Forum in collaboration with Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, organised Easter Utsav Celebration on Wednesday 14 April, 2021 at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Crypt, Pratt Street, Suva. Mr Santosh Kumar Mishra, Director SVCC inaugurated the event as a Chief Guest where he spoke about India@75. iv) An event to mark the 71st Foundation Day of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) was held on Friday, 16 April, 2021 at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Suva. Mr. Saifullah Khan, Acting High Commissioner welcomed the Chief Guest and delivered the welcome address. He also spoke about India@75. The video message of Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, President ICCR delivered on the 71st Foundation Day of ICCR was played. Ms. Sherine Prasad, an ICCR Scholar from Fiji who has recently returned after completing her studies at Banaras Hindu University in India shared her experiences as an ICCR Scholar. The videos of global 1st Prize winner and also of 5 ICCR Scholars from Fiji who participated in the International Blogging Video Contest launched by ICCR on the theme “My impression of India and what India means to me” were also played. The Sanskrit Learning App “Little Guru” was also launched in Fiji with the video message of Shri Dinesh Patnaik, Director General ICCR. Students of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre performed cultural items during the event.

IDY celebrations organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by HCI, Suva (June 21, 2021)

1.As a part of India @ 75 celebrations, High Commission of India, Suva celebrated 7th International Day of Yoga 2021 on a grand scale. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the IDY was celebrated through virtual platforms. A virtual Curtain Raiser was organized. Exclusive Yoga Videos were prepared in association with various Yoga Institutions and professional in Fiji which were telecast on local Television networks and publicity was done through Social Media handles; 2.Yoga with Ms. Rasika Reshma, a young Yoga enthusiast, Pose Production Fiji, Yoga with Fiji Yoga Teachers Association, Special Yoga Workshops with Shrimed Rajchandra Mission Dharampur (SRMD), Gujarat, India; 3. Celebrations of World Music Day- Ms. Tiyasa Chatterjee from West Bengal presented Digital Performance for Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Suva to celebrate World Music Day 2021 as a part of India @ 75 Celebrations.
