Panel discussion, Bihar Foundation Day Celebration and Holi event during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by CGI, Frankfurt (March 2021)

i) On the occasion of International Women's Day, a panel discussion was organized to talk about women's role on India's struggle for freedom and their contribution to socio-economic reforms of India. ii) Event was organized on Bihar Foundation Day to showcase the rich history and culture of Bihar. iii) Holi Celebration.

Arunachal Pradesh and Rajasthan State Promotional events, Cultural Events and Documentary screening on life of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Berlin (April 2021)

i) The Tagore Centre, Embassy of India Berlin is featuring promotional videos of Indian States & Union territories in a series as part of #IndiaAt75 Celebrations from March 2021 onwards. Promotional videos on Arunachal Pradesh and Rajasthan were screened online on April 2 & 16 respectively covering topics on UNESCO World heritage sites, traditional folk dance, Art & Architecture and technology development. ii) TTC, EoI, Berlin organized an online ‘Guru Shishya Parampara’ series of classical Indian music and Dance performances by German students with their Indian Gurus. The 4-day long series was part of #IndiaAt75 Celebrations that showcased the rich cultural heritage of India and the intercultural dialogue between the Indo-German artistes. Shri Dinesh K Patnaik, Director General, ICCR inaugurated the series with a 'Sarod-Surbahar-Tabla’ concert by Indian Guru Ustad Irfan Khan and his German disciple Matyas Wolter. Day 2 of the series was a ‘Kuchipudi’ classical dance performance by Indian Guru Smt. Padmavani Mosalikanti with her German student Shebana Devi Mangold. Day 3 & 4 'Sarod-Sarod-Tabla' classical music performance by Indian Guru Dr. Pt. Ranajit Sengupta with his German student Florian Erb, accompanied by Sri Debjit Patitundi; ‘Kathak’ classical dance performance by Indian Guru Smt. Geetanjali Laal with her German student Anne Dietrich. iii) TTC, EoI, Berlin in collaboration with Drama Panorama Forum for Translation & Theatre e.V., the City of Munich, the Bavarian State Chancellery and the German Translators' Fund organized the global theatre festival series titled “TEAM THEATRE GLOBAL” from April 21 to 27, 2021. TTC sponsored translation of the following four renowned Kannada plays into German that were presented during the festival 21 April YAYATI, A play of Girish Karnad; 23 April 2021 PHANTASMAGORIE by Deepika Arwind 25 April 2021 Dance Like a Man, Play by Mahesh Dattani 27 April 2021 PROJECT S.T.R.I.P., Play by Ram Ganesh Kamatham iv) TTC, EoI, Berlin paid tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti by screening of video encapsulating important moments from the life of the Chief Architect of the Indian Constitution as part of #IndiaAt75.

Virtual Media Interaction and events Showcasing Indian History and Freedom Struggle organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by CGI, Frankfurt (April 2021)

i) 8 April Consulate General of India, Frankfurt organised a virtual interaction with various community organisations in the Consulate's jurisdiction. During the meeting, representatives of various associations shared their views on initiatives undertaken by them for the welfare of the Indian community. The participants also shared their ideas on preparations for the India@75 celebrations and 70th anniversary of India-Germany diplomatic relations. II) 9 April To celebrate 75 years of India’s independence and 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations with Germany, the Consulate General of India in Frankfurt presented the first session in a series of interactions between professors and students. These interactive sessions focus on collaboration between India and Germany in the field of science and technology and benefit Indian students who wish to pursue their higher education in Germany. iii) 10 April Consulate General of India, Frankfurt in collaboration with Indian Community Association Gujarati Samaj, NRW, created a small informative video to pay tribute to our forefathers who gave their lives for the cause of our nation and to document the role of several unsung heroes. The video also showcased the contribution of the state of Gujarat in India’s freedom struggle. The video highlighted the seminal role of scores of common Indian men and women who participated in India’s freedom struggle during the ‘Civil Disobedience’ and several such satyagrahas in Bardoli, Dharasana, Kheda etc under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and many more leaders.

Event on Education, Art & Culture organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by CGI, Hamburg (April 2021)

A Painting Competition on the occasion of Holi in association with the Consulate General of India in Hamburg and Farbenmeer KunstZentrum, was conducted by DIG Bremen also as part of India@75 celebrations. Winners were announced by the DIG during the online Easter Fest in Bremen on 4th April. As a part of India@75 Celebrations, Indischer Verein Hannover e.V. / Indian Association Hannover (𝐈𝐀𝐒𝐇) celebrated April as "Indian Heritage Month". In this regard IASH organized an online "Madubani art Workshop & Introduction to Indian Folk Art" on 16.04.2021 I the form of “Kids Art Workshop” in an effort to introduce the Indian Folk Art to the kids.. The folk and tribal arts of India are very ethnic and simple, and yet colourful and vibrant enough to speak volumes about the country’s rich heritage. The event began with an introduction to the Madhubani art form by Mrs. Darsana who later conducted the Workshop and explained in detail each step, constantly encouraging the kids to be creative. The event ended with a video explaining various Folk Art forms of India.

Various State Promotional events, Yoga events and Tagore Jayanti Celebrations organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Berlin ( May 2021)

(1) #IndiaAt75 Social media campaign for the promotion of Jammu, Kashmir and the state of Sikkim. Promotional videos were screened online on May 14 & May 28. Promotion videos of Jammu and Kashmir featured the famous Hazratbal Shrine, Dal Lake & the Floating Vegetable Market, the ecologically significant Mansar Ramsar Convention site & the popular art of Sozni Weaving. For the State of Sikkim, videos on Yak Golf Course (World's highest Golf Course), the Kangchenjunga Mountain range, 100% Organic State of Sikkim, Frog diversity in Teesta river valley, GI tag for Dalle Khursani (hot chilly pepper) & the rich heritage of Rabdentse ruins were premiered. (2) To promote Yoga in Germany during the #IndiaAt75 Celebrations, TTC, EoI, Berlin in collaboration with Sivananda Yoga Centre Berlin and Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram organized theme based online Yoga classes in May 2021. Online Hindi (Level III) and Sanskrit classes (Level III) had also been organized in May 2021 in collaboration with Berlin based Amikal e.V. and the University of Leipzig respectively. (3) Nobel Laureate, Rabindranath Tagore had a close connection with Germany through his three visits in 1921, 1926 and 1930. The 160th birth anniversary of Tagore is a best occasion to commemorate the cultural relations between India and Germany. On this occasion, The Tagore Centre, EoI, Berlin organized an online exhibition titled ‘Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, a Visionary, Artist and Poet’. The online exhibition was curated by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) and sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The online exhibition was premiers on the social media handles of the EoI, Berlin on May 7, 2021.

Professor-Student Interaction series and Kerala State Promotion event organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by CGI, Frankfurt ( May 2021)

(i) The Second session of Professor-Student Interaction series. The objective of the interactive series is to talk about the scope and opportunity for cooperation between India and Germany in the field of education, science and technology; guiding Indian students in choosing their career paths as well as to bring our student and scientific community in Germany closer. (ii) Release of Video in collaboration with Indian Community Association Hindu depicting the rich and vibrant culture of Kerala.

Festival Celebrations and German–Indian Business Leaders Talks organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by CGI, Hamburg ( May 16-27, 2021)

During the month of May 2021, The Consulate General of India, Hamburg conducted the following events as part of activities – India@75 i.Eid-Ul-Fitr on 16 May 2021. The Consulate General of India Hamburg, in collaboration with DIG Bremen, celebrated Eid-Ul-Fitr on 16 May 2021. The event began with a minute’s silence to remember loved ones who have left us in the current pandemic. President, DIG Bremen gave the welcome address followed by a short speech by Consul General who explained the essence of Eid-Ul-Fitr and Ramadan and urged participants to remember and continue to give moral and material support to the less fortunate and those suffering during this pandemic even in the midst of our celebrations. Indian Student Association (ISAB) which includes the University of Bremen, University of Applied Sciences, Bremerhaven as well as students from other institutes, gave a brief about the activities of ISAB. ii. German–Indian Business Leaders Talk on 27 May 2021. The Consulate General of India, Hamburg together with the German-Indian Business Summit (GIBS) organized “GERMAN–INDIAN BUSINESS LEADERS TALK-2021” on 27 May 2021. The event was attended by approximately 80 participants and provided an insight into possible synergies for cooperation between India and Germany. Mr. Gurjit Singh, Former Ambassador of India to Germany spoke on “How to enhance Indo-German Economic Partnership” and encouraged FDI, better perception management as well as the creation of more resilient value chains while Mr. Bernd Mützelburg, former Ambassador of Germany to India shared his views about “India and Germany in the era of growing Interdependence” and Mr. Anup Mudgal, Former High Commissioner to India Mauritius & CG Munich spoke on “Diaspora Youth & India’s Global Economic Relations”. In his welcome remarks, Consul General spoke on India-Germany relations and gave a short background of the increasing cooperation between the two countries.

Celebrations of World Environment Day & IDY and various cultural events organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by CGI, Hamburg (June 05-26, 2021)

1.Celebration of World Environment Day. Indian Students Association Bremen (ISAB) in collaboration with the CGI, Hamburg, and Indian Students in Germany organized an online event entitled 'Restoring the Ecosystem' on the occasion of World Environment Day and India@75. The event started with welcome speeches by Mr. Gulshan Dhingra, Vice Consul and Dr. Balasubramanian Ramani, Founder of Indian Students in Germany. The Keynote Speaker was Mr Arun Krishnamurthy, Founder of Environmentalist Foundation of India who delivered a talk entitled 'Global citizens for sustainable Future'. 2.Celebration of the 7th IDY. CGI, Hamburg in collaboration with Indian Associations in Hamburg, Bremen, Lower Saxony and Schleswig Holstein organized a total of 7 events to celebrate the 7th International Day of Yoga 2021. lecture on Ayurveda and Yoga, its relevance in present World" by Dr. Priyanka Chorge, Yoga Session on Yoga in Daily Life by Ms. Ekta Jaiswal and Ms. Bhavana and Mr. Pradyumna Kandadai performed “Raga and Yoga; 3.International Seminar on Yoga Health & Healing. The event was conducted in collaboration with Indian Association Shaktya e.V based in Bremen through an online platform;. 4.Celebration of 7th International Day of Yoga in Bremen. The event was conducted in collaboration with Indian Association Shaktya e.V in Bürgerpark, Bremen; 5.Celebration of 7th International Day of Yoga in Bremen- DIG Bremen in collaboration with the CGI Hamburg organized a full day Yoga workshop with various Yoga sessions at TuS Komet Arstene; 6.Yoga Fest 2021 at Dr. Mishra Academy- Shaktya e.V. in collaboration with the Consulate organised a brief event called 'Yoga Fest 2021' to celebrate the 7th IDY (IDY) 2021; 7.Celebration of 7th International Day of Yoga in Hannover by IASH. The event was conducted in collaboration with Indian Association Hannover as part of the Series of 4 Open Air Physical Yoga Events at the Park behind Rathaus in Hannover; 8. International Seminar on Yoga Health & Dance- An International Seminar on Yoga & Dance was organized by Shaktya e.V. in association with the Consulate General of India Hamburg as part of celebrations of the 7th International Day of Yoga. 9. Virtual Musical evening by IASH- The Indian Association Hannover (IASH) in collaboration with CGI Hamburg conducted a virtual Musical Evening as part of India@75 and World Music Day celebrations.
