Curtain Raiser event , Women CA Conference, Online classes on Gandhian Philosophy and Visit of Indian Naval Ship during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations organised by EoI Bahrain (March, 2021)
(1) Embassy of India organized a curtain raiser event to launch the celebrations of 75 years of India’s Independence. H.E. Mr. Abdulnabi Al Sho’ala, former Minister, Government of Bahrain and a well-known Gandhian scholar, was the Chief Guest of the event (20 March, 2021). The event commenced with a floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and planting of NEEM sapling by the Chief Guest at the Embassy premises. The event also included virtual cultural performances by the children. ii) As part of India@75 celebration, Ambassador also participated in the Women CA Conference, organized virtually by the women members of Bahrain Chapter of Institute of Chartered Accounts of India (20 March, 2021). iii) As part of India@75 celebrations, some members of Indian community participated in the online classes on Gandhian philosophy, conducted by Smt. Shobhana Radhakrishna, Chief Functionary, Gandhian Forum for Ethical Corporate Governance (20 March, 2021-10 April, 2021). iv) INS Talwar made a port call at Mina Salman from 15th to 17th March, 2021. This visit by INS Talwar provided a boost to the friendly relations between Bahrain and India. Ambassador visited INS Talwar at Mina Salman Port, and interacted with Captain & Crew. The ship also undertook PASSEX with Royal Bahrain Naval Force ship (17 March, 2021).
Baisakhi Celebrations, Virtual interactions and Cultural Event organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Bahrain (April 2021)
i) Baisakhi Celebrations As per part of India@75 celebrations, Punjabis United in Bahrain in association with the Embassy of India virtually celebrated Baisakhi 2021 on 18 April. Speaking at the event, Ambassador conveyed his greetings to the Indian Community on the occasion and spoke about the rich cultural heritage and diversity of India, and highlighted the centuries-old cultural and people to people connect Indian and Kingdom of Bahrain. ii) The Mission organised three virtual interactions with the Indian Associations in Bahrain to brainstorm & discuss different ideas for India@75 celebrations, and for Golden Jubilee celebrations of establishment of Diplomatic relations between Indian and Bahrain on 20, 22, 27 April 2021 iii) Ramadan Ghabga As part of India@75 celebrations, Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) organised Ghabga party and cultural event on 30 April 2021.
Maharashtra Day celebrations , Event on Indian Philosophy and Virtual Interactive Event organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Bahrain ( May 2021)
(I) 08.05.2021 – “Maharashtra Day” As part of India@75 celebrations, Maharashtra Cultural Society in Bahrain virtually celebrated Maharashtra Day. Speaking at the event, Ambassador conveyed his greetings to the Marathi Community on the occasion and spoke about the rich cultural heritage and diversity of India, and highlighted the instrumental role played by Indian diaspora in spreading Indian culture and values abroad. Ambassador also briefed the community members on COVID-19 situation in India; the international support being received, including from the friendly Kingdom of Bahrain and also on the active involvement and contribution of the Indian Community. (II) 10.05.2021- As part of India@75 celebrations, Ambassador awarded certificates to 6 candidates from Bahrain who participated in the online certificate course on Gandhian Philosophy conducted by renowned Gandhian scholar, Smt. Shobhana Radhakrishna from 20 March to 10 April 2021. (III) 30.05.2021 –As part of India@75 celebrations initiated by the Mission, Indian Ladies Association, Bahrain organised an Virtual Interactive Event titled “The Iconic Faces of India” in which ladies portrayed as inspiring and powerful women of India viz. Jodha Bhai, Sarojini Naidu, Sushma Swaraj, Kiran Bedi, to Mary Kom, Priyanka Chopra, Lata Mageshkar etc. Mrs. Gaythri Chandrasekar, Mrs. India 2021 was also guest and judge for the event.
