Social Media campaign depicting India's achievements and online exhibition on Festivals of India (March 25, 2021)

India@75 celebrations in Victoria were launched by social media campaigning through infographics depicting India's achievements in various sectors in the last 75 years. An online exihibition on Festivals of India was organised on the day of Holi 29.3.2021.

Inauguration event of Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations , Cultural and Historical events organised by HCI, Victoria (April 2021)

i) A live online broadcast of Indian Classical Dance (Bharatanatyam) performance by Natya Rathna Ms Arthi Kalidasan was organised by the High Commission of India in collaboration with the Pillay R Natyalaya on 29th April, 2021. ii) An honorarium along with a certificate of Appreciation was presented to Ms Kalidasan for her performance. The winners of an online quiz contest which was held on Ambedkar Jayanti on 14th April, 2021 were also awarded prizes on the occasion. iii) The High Commissioner of India General Dalbir Singh Suhag inaugurated the event. He spoke about the significance of India's independence in the World's history and the progress made by India in the past 75 years. He also remembered the freedom fighters and the founding fathers of the nation.

Painting Competition and Exhibition (22nd July, 2021)

The High Commission of India in partnership with National Arts Council of Seychelles organized a painting competition under the ongoing India@75 – Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. The competition was launched on 7th April 2021 with the theme - India and Seychelles and ended on 30th May during which over 50 entries in various categories were received. 'An exhibition of the paintings received is being held at the High Commission of India and a prize distribution ceremony for winners of the painting competition was organised at the High Commission of India on 22nd July 2021. The competition was judged jointly by National Arts Council and the Indian Association of Seychelles.

Planting of 75 saplings on the occassion of World Nature Conservation Day (28th July, 2021)

The High Commission of India in collaboration with the Seychelles National Parks Authority (SNPA), organised a Tree Plantation Activity at Grand Anse Mahe in the Morne Seychellois National Park. The activity was organised in commemoration of World Nature Conservation Day, which falls on July 28th each year. The High Commission of India as part of celebration of India at 75- Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, a celebration of 75 years of India’s independence planted 75 endemic trees symbolising the 75 years of India’s independence

Educational Events, Media Campaign; Health and Wellness Events organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by HCI, Victoria (Mahe) ( May 2021)

1. Congratulatory message from Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism of the Republic of Seychelles for the India@75 Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav was used effectively in the social media campaign 2. An online painting competition on the themes 'India & Seychelles' and 'What India means to me' is underway. 3. An online exhibition of photographs of Indian athletes was done on 7.5.2021, World Athletics Day. 4. Infographics were posted and publicised on the occasion of the birth centenary of Satyajit Ray, birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, World Culture Day and Anti-terrorism Day. 5. In association with the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) six videos were shot with several yoga volunteers at Kempinski Seychelles Resort Baie Lazare. These videos will be telecast on SBC and the various social media handles

Celebrations of World Bicycle Day, World Environment Day, IDY &World Music Day organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by HCI, Victoria (Mahe) (June , 2021)

1. Social Media campaign; 2. High Commission of India collaborated with Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC), the national broadcaster of Seychelles for shooting six half an hour videos of different forms of yoga sessions for broadcasting in their Channels during the weekends. 3. Two episodes were already aired on 12.6.2021 and 13.6.2021; 4. Mission has launched a Yoga Asana Demonstration Competition for three categories- Children, Adolescents and Adults; 5. Mission also launched a fortnight-“online social media campaign”. Video demonstration of one asana was shared on our social media platforms everyday till 20th June; 6. The main event of IDY2021 was organised in virtual mode wherein the participants joined online through the social media channels of the High Commission of India. The event was inaugurated by the High Commissioner of India to Seychelles by lighting a traditional Indian lamp. He then delivered the opening remarks wherein he spoke on the relevance of yoga in times of COVID-19 crisis. A special video message from the Vice-President of the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Ahmed Afif, on International Day of Yoga 2021, was played; 7. A classical music presentation by Shri Pranshu Chatur Lal, an ICCR empanelled Tabla Player was included to mark the World Music Day as part of the IDY main event organised virtually.

75th Independence Day

High Commission of India, Victoria celebrated the 75th Independence Day of India with a flag hoisting ceremony in the morning followed by an evening reception hosted by the High Commissioner at Kempinski Seychelles Resort which was attended by H.E. Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, President of the Republic of Seychelles, the First Lady Ms Linda Ramkalawan, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Afif, Vice President of the Republic of Seychelles, His Lordship Chief Justice Ronny Govinden, several Cabinet Ministers, government officials, members of the diplomatic missions and other high level dignitaries.

Celebration of Teachers Day (Shikshak Parv) on 6th September, 2021

. The High Commission of India celebrated India’s National Teachers Day at to mark the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The event that saw several Indian and Indian origin teachers in attendance began with a short documentary on the life of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Mr. Isidore Lopez and Mrs. Selvi Karunakaran, two of the senior-most Indian and India-origin teachers shared their stories and experiences of teaching in Seychelles. High Commissioner General Dalbir Singh Suhag addressed the gathering and spoke about the significant role played by teachers in shaping the future of their students. He also felicitated Mrs. Nalinadevi Radhakrishnan and Mr. Verghese Kunethra, two well-known retired Indian teachers in Seychelles for their dedicated years of service in the field of education.

Yoga session and Asana Competition prize distribution (10th September, 2021)

A prize distribution ceremony for the Yoga Asana Demonstration Competition was held on 10th September. The competition was organised as part of IDY 2021 celebration. A 45 minute yoga session was also held for the High Commission officials and winners of the yoga competition.

Hindi Diwas Celebration (14th September, 2021)

The High Commission celebrated Hindi Diwas on 14th September, 2021 at the Chancery premises. A Hindi Quiz and Hindi Poem Recitation competition were organised. Members of the Indian Diaspora and High Commission officials participated in the event which was judged by prominent members of the Indian Diaspora.
