Inauguration of Dammam Chapter of the Saudi – India Business Network (SIBN)

The Dammam Chapter of the Saudi – India Business Network (SIBN) was inaugurated on Aug 8 by Ambassador of India to KSA H.E. Dr. Ausaf Sayeed in the presence of leading Saudi and Indian businesspersons and professionals based in the Eastern Province. It is a platform to bring together businesspersons and professionals of both countries to enhance trade&investment.

India Saudi Utsav

As part of celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav & 75 years of India Saudi Diplomatic Relations, Ambassador of India HE Dr Ausaf Sayeed inaugurated the India Saudi Utsav being organised by Lulu group.

75th Independence Day Celebrations

The Embassy celebrated 75th Independence Day of India in hybrid format. After the Ambassador unfurled the national flag, he read out the President's message. This was followed by cultural performances. As a prelude to celebration of the 75th Independence Day of India, the Embassy organised Pravasi Bhartiya Samman (PBS) Award Ceremony to present award to Dr. Siddeek Ahmad, a prominent businessman and philathropist, who won the PBS award 2021. On the occasion of 75th Independence Day of India which also marks 75 years of India-Saudi Diplomatic Relations, the iconic Kingdom Tower in Riyadh was illuminated in tricolour.

INDIA GLOBAL CONNECT – SAUDI ARABIA

Embassy in collaboration with GJEPC India conducted a Webinar on gems and jewellery business networking platform INDIA GLOBAL CONNECT – SAUDI ARABIA on August 18, 2022.

Painting exhibition to celebrate the Indo-Saudi cultural connect.

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Embassy organised a painting exhibition to celebrate the Indo-Saudi cultural connect on August 21, 2022. The Ambassador inaugurated the exhibition and interacted with Indian and Saudi artists.

Launching of Indian Education Forum

On August 22, Indian Ambassador to KSA Dr. Ausaf Sayeed launched the Indian Education Forum, a network of Indian academicians in Saudi Arabia to further the collaboration in higher education between the two countries. Indian academicians from various Saudi Universities attended the virtual event.

Special Yoga workshop for ladies- "Yoga for Health and Wellbeing"

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and prelude to celebrations of Gandhi Jayanti, Embassy of India, Riyadh organized a virtual Quiz on Life of Mahatma Gandhi from Sep 12-30.

Hindi Day Celebrations

Under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the program of Hindi Day was organized at the Indian Embassy, ​​Riyadh today on 14th September. On this occasion, competitions of Hindi essay, quiz and self-written poetry recitation were organized by the embassy.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations

The Embassy organised a cultural program to celebrate 152nd birth anniversary of Gandhi. Students of Indian schools in Riyadh and artists from the community presented several performances as a tribute to Bapu. In addition to that a stamps and coins exhibition, and Gandhi Cycle Rally were too organized by the Mission.

The Embassy in collaboration with Bangladesh Embassy in Saudi Arabia, celebrated Maitree Diwas with our expat communities in Riyadh on 06 December 2021.The event was attended by Secretary General, GCC Dr. Nayef Al Hajraf as Chief Guest.Mr. Bandar AlKhamies, Deputy Minister for International Economic Affairs, Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning; Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Abbas, Member of Shoura Council; & Dr. Mohammed Al Shammari, DG, MoFA attended the program as guests of Honour.The event included cultural programs, logo unveiling ceremony, photo exhibition on Liberation War and screening of documentary on India-Bangladesh ties.

India-Saudi Pharma Business Meet

On 07 December 2021, as part of AKAM Embassy of India in Riyadh in collaboration with Pharmexcil organized an India-Saudi Pharma business meet to enhance collaboration between the two countries in the Pharma sector which was widely attended by participants from both countries.Representatives from SFDA spoke on the drugs registration process. The webinar was followed by a buyer seller meet to evaluate opportunities for Indian pharma companies in KSA.

Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas Celebrations 2022

On 08 January 2022, as part of AKAM the Embassy of India in Riyadh celebrated Pravasi Bhartiya Divas with the members of Indian community in KSA. Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayid briefed about government initiatives pertaining to Indian Diaspora and gave a presentation on Embassy's activities in 2021.

75 Crore Surya Namaskar Challenge

Embassy of India in Riyadh as part of AKAM celebrations organized 75 crore Surya Namaskar challenge in Saudi Arabia from 01 January to 20 February 2022.The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Indian diaspora, students, Saudi Nationals, and members from Diplomatic community. Yoga Workshop on Heartfulness Meditation

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, on 17 January 2022 Embassy of India in Riyadh organised Yoga WorkShop on Heartfulness Meditation– From Stress to self-realization. The session was lead by Dr. Narendran Ulaganathan, FRCA- Consultant anesthesiologist (King Faisal hospital and research centre, Riyadh). The workshop was attended by members from Indian diaspora, students, members of other nationalities including Saudi nationals.

World Hindi Day Celebrations

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, on 19 January 2022 Embassy organised Hindi Quiz and Essay writing competition for students in celebration of world Hindi Day. Winners and participants were given certificates and prizes.

73rd Republic Day Celebrations-2022

The Embassy celebrated the 73rd Republic Day of India with the Indian community. Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayeed unfurled the tricolour on the occasion & read out the President's message to the nation. This was followed by cultural performances. In celebration of the 73rd Republic Day of India, the Embassy organised a gala reception for members of Indian diaspora, diplomatic community and Saudi dignitaries. The function was chaired by HH Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf Al-Muqrin, Mayor of Riyadh.The Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayeed briefed the audience about India's growth story and flourishing India-Saudi relations.

Grand India Utsav

On 23 January 2022Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Syeed inaugurated the grand India Utsav at Lulu Hypermarket in Riyadh, featuring more than 7000 products from India across various categories. The products on sale included a wide variety of food items and spices, including cardamom, cloves and the famed Kashmiri saffron which are all used extensively in Saudi cuisine.

Ambassador Golf Tournament

To mark Azadi Ka AmritMahotsav, on 05 February 2022 Embassy of India organised the Ambassador Golf Tournament at Dirab Golf Club Riyadh. Over 65 players including Ambassadors, diplomats and professionals across various nationalities participated. Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayeed gave away the prizes to the winners across various categories.

Yoga Workshop on "Meditation and Breathing Techniques and Benefits of Suryanamaskar

The Embassy organized Yoga Workshop on "Meditation and Breathing Techniques - To live a happy and healthy life" as part of Azadi Ka Amrit MAahotsav celebration on 06 February 2022. The session was lead by Hashem Al- Alawi (Art of living, International Co-ordinator, Saudi Arabia). On the same day, the Embassy organized a specialized yoga workshop on "Benefits of Suryanamaskar" at Yara International School.

"Celebrating India's Architectural Heritage" :Photo Exhibition and Book release

To mark #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav , on 23 February Embassy organised a tourism promotion event featuring a documentary and photo exhibition on India's Architectural Heritage. A coffee table book was also released by Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Syeed on the occasion. The event featured photo exhibition of noted journalist and photographer Mr. K.N. Wasif.

Concluding ceremony of the 75 crore suryanamaskar

On 27 February 2022, Embassy organised the concluding ceremony of the 75 crore suryanamaskar initiative as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with a demonstration by Yoga enthusiasts consisting of diplomats, Saudis and Indian nationals. 75 students of the Yoga classes at the Embassy were awarded certificates issued by Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga. Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Syeed spoke on the evolution of Yoga in the Kingdom.

Distinguished Speaker Series: Inaugural edition

On the occasion of Azadi Ka AmritMahotsav, Embassy of India in Riyadh launched the Distinguished Speakers Series, featuring prominent Saudis who will speak on a variety of topics related to Saudi life, society and culture.On 09 March 2022, the Embassy organised the Inaugural edition of the Distinguished Speaker Series featuring Faisal J Abbas, Editor-in-Chief of Arab news who spoke on the topic 'Evolution of Saudi society from the prism of Saudi media'. The event was attended by Ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, Saudi nationals and the Indian community.

Virtual Quiz on the theme "Unity in Diversity" as part of Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat celebrations

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat celebrations, on 10 March 2022 Embassy of India, Riyadh organized a virtual Quiz on the theme "Unity in Diversity". The questions were based on Indian states and Union territories. Indian diaspora, including Schools students were participated enthusiastically in the quiz.

International Women's Day Celebrations 2022

Embassy hosted International Womens Day 2022 celebrations organised by the Wives of Heads of Mission (WHOM), KSA with a colourful display of cultural performances, art exhibition and international bazaar. The event was widely attended by diplomats and Saudi dignitaries.

Ugadi (Telugu New Year) Celebrations

As part of Azadi ka AmritMahotsav, the Embassy in collaboration with Telugu Kalakshetram & APNRTS celebrated Ugadi 2022 (Telugu New Year) on 08 April 2022. On 15 April 2022, as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Embassy in collaboration with Indian Tamil Fine Arts Association celebrated Tamil New Year.The celebrations included various cultural performances by the members of Indian Community. Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations 2022

As part of Azadi Ka AmritMahotsav, the Embassy in collaboration with Indian schools in Riyadh organized Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations on 14 April 2022. The celebrations included various competitions and events such as skit, essay writing, painting etc. Winers and participants were falicitated.

Training visit of INS TIR, INS SUJATA, and Indian Coast guard Ship SARATHI at Jeddah Port

On 05 May 2022, Ships of First training Squadron of Indian Navy, INS TIR and INS SUJATA along with Indian Coast guard Ship SARATHI arrived at Jeddah Port for a training visit.The ships were warmly received by officials of Royal Saudi Naval Forces, Border Guards and Indian Embassy. On May 07, Mr N Ram Prasad, Charge d’ Affaires a.i. Embassy of India visited the ships of First training squadron and interacted with the crew. On his arrival, he was received by Capt Aftab Ahmed Khan the Senior Officer 1TS, and briefed on various training and operational activities.After his tour of the ships, Cd'A interacted with the trainee cadets and gave them an overview of the present geopolitical situation. He complimented them for their professionalism and exhorted them to continue working with the same zeal and enthusiasm.Capt Aftab Ahmed Khan the Senior Officer 1TS along with Captains of INS Sujata, ICGS Sarathi and INS Tarangini visited the Western fleet Headquarters and paid a courtesy call today to Rear Admiral Yahya bin Mohammed Al-Assiri, Western Fleet Commander, Royal Saudi Naval Forces.Discussions on bilateral defence cooperation aspects and ongoing training activities besides an exchange of Mementos was undertaken at the Fleet Headquarters.An onboard reception was organised by the visiting Indian Navy ships and the Embassy for Saudi Officials, Diplomats, Defence Attaches & Indian Expat community. The event commenced with an overview about the Indian Navy & activities of training ships followed by a cultural program. The Charge d’ Affaires a.i. Mr N Ram Prasad in his address thanked everyone especially the Saudi officials for their support and expressed optimism that this ship visit will assist in furthering the Indo-Saudi bilateral defence relations. On May 08, School children from various Indian Schools at Jeddah visited the IN ships and were given a guided tour of the onboard systems and capabilities. The children also interacted with the Officers, Sailors and Cadet trainees on the ships.Indian community members also visited the ships in large numbers along with their families.

Tagore Jayanti Celebrations 2022

As part of Azadi Ka AmritMahotsav, the Embassy in collaboration with International Indian Schools in Saudi Arabia organized Tagore Jayanti celebrations on 09 May 2022. The celebrations included various competitions such as story writing, drawing and poetry based on the life and works of Rabindra Nath Tagore. Students participated enthusiastically in the celebrations.

Distinguished Speaker Series: Second Event

On 12 May 2022, as part of AKAM Embassy of India in Riyadh organized the 2nd Distinguished Speaker Series event in which Sadhguru talked about the Save Soil Movement and its relevance in Saudi Arabia. As part of this movement Sadhguru is travelling 30,000 kms across Europe, Middle East and South Asia.Cd'A Mr. N Ram Prasad hosted the discussion which was followed by cultural performances. Cd'A also presented a memento to Sadhguru. The event was attended by Indian Diaspora, Saudi nationals, expats from varied nationalities, Diplomats and journalists.

B2B Session and Workshop on Indian IT Industry

On 24 May 2022, Embassy hosted a delegation from National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) in Saudi Arabia to promote Indian IT exports to KSA. A B2B interaction was organised by Riyadh Chamber. Meetings were also held between the NASSCOM delegation and officials from Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority.

Kingdom of Mangoes Festival

As part of AKAM, Charge d'affaires H.E. Mr. N. Ram Prasad inaugurated the Kingdom of Mangoes Festival at LuLu Hypermart on 25 May 2022. The festival featured more than 80 varieties of mangoes, most of them from various states of India.

200 Years of Urdu Journalism

Embassy of India, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, in collaboration with International Journalists Fraternity Forum celebrated 200 Years of Urdu Journalism at the Embassy premises on 26 May 2022. The celebrations also included Mehfil-e-ghazal by singers. Embassy officials and members of Indian diaspora participated in the celebrations.

"An Ode to the Nightingale": Tribute to Lata Mangeshkar

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav the Embassy in collaboration with members of Indian community in Riyadh celebrated the legacy of Late Shri Lata Mangeshkarji on 29 May 2022 and paid tribute to her by organising a live orchestra "Gaanaanjali" in which they sang prominent songs of her in different languages of India including Hindi, Marathi, Malyalam, Bangla etc.

Mango Tasting Event

The Embassy in collaboration with LuLu Hypermart Riyadh organised a mango tasting event on 31 May 2022. Cd'A N.Ram Prasad was the chief guest for the event. The attendees were offered to taste a variety of Indian mangoes and a range of dishes and drinks made from mango.The event was attended by diplomats, Saudi nationals and prominent business persons.

World Bicycle Day and Cycle Rally

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,Embassy of India celebrated World Bicycle Day on 3 June 2022. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups.Cd'A Mr. N. Ramprasad shared that cycling is great way to maintain good health and it also contributes towards achieving SDGs.

As part of Azadi ka AmritMahotsav, the Embassy in collaboration with Riyadh Tamil Sangam celebrated Chithirai Thiruvizha on 11 June 2022.Cd'A N. Ram Prasad was the chief guest for the event. The celebrations included various cultural performances by the members of Indian Community.

International Day of Yoga celebrations 2022 and Global Yoga Ring

On 21 June 2022, Embassy of India celebrated the 8th IDY as part of Global Yoga Ring. The celebration included a demonstration of common yoga protocol, yoga prayer, pledge and a dance choreographed with yoga postures. Participants from different nationalities and age groups attended the event.Cd'A Mr. N. Ramprasad addressed the audience, highlighting that Yoga has emerged as a key pillar of cooperation in India-Saudi Arabia relations.Nouf marwaai,the head of Saudi Yoga Committee, Ministry of Sports, took part in the event and encouraged everyone to make yoga a part of their daily routine.

Visit of INS Chennai at Jeddah Islamic port

INS Chennai arrived at Jeddah Islamic port on an operational turnaround visit on 26 June.On it's arrival, it was received by Saudi Naval and Indian Embassy officials.Interactions with Royal Saudi Navy and Border Guards were carried out besides visit by school children to the ship during its two day port call.Increased defence engagements are testimony to the robust India-Saudi bilateral relationship.

Screening the biopic "Rocketry"

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Embassy of India collaborated with Arabia Pictures for screening the biopic "Rocketry" across movie theaters in Saudi Arabia from July 01, 2022.

"Rafi Ki Yaadein" -A tribute to the legendary singer, Late Shri. Muhammed Rafi

On 31 July 2022As part of Azadi Ka AmritMahotsav the Embassy, in collaboration with the Indian community conducted a live orchestra event "Rafi Ki Yaadein" to pay tribute to the legendary singer, Late Shri. Muhammed Rafi, on his 42nd Anniversary. Members of Indian diaspora along with Indian embassy official and and theri families attented the event.

National Handloom Day: Textiles Exhibition "From the hands of Indian Weavers"

On 08 August 2022, the Embassy celebrated National Handloom Day by putting up a Textiles Exhibition- "From the hands of Indian Weavers". The event was attended by diplomats, representatives of Saudi companies, journalists and members of Indian diaspora.During the event, Cd'A Mr. N. Ramprasad talked about the rich history and diversity of Indian handloom products.

Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign was conducted by the Embassy of India to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence. Embassy's social media handles gave wide publicity to the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

To commemorate 75 years of India-Saudi bilateral relations and as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Embassy, in association with Gulf Madhayamam, organised "Memories of Legends" in International Indian School Riyadh 24 September 2022. Embassy Officials, members of Indian and Saudi diaspora participated in the event.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations 2022

To celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, Embassy in partnership with Saudi Cycling and Saudi Diplomatic Quarter organized a Cycle Rally in DQ. Cd'A Mr. M.R. Sajeev flagged off the rally. Cycle enthusiasts from different nationalities participated in the rally. After the cycle rally, a cultural programme was also organized, in which songs and skits on the life of Gandhi ji were presented by students of Indian schools in Riyadh. It was followed by a quiz competition. To commemorate the birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Cd'A Mr. M.R. Sajeev along with Embassy officials and staff paid floral tribute to his statue in the Embassy premises.

Keralolsavam

On 04October 2022, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations, Embassy of India celebrated “Keralolsavam” by displaying the Tourism, Commercial products, food and culture from the state of Kerala. The event was attended by diplomats, representatives of Saudi companies, journalists and members of Indian diaspora.

Ayurveda Day Celebrations

On 22 October 2022, Embassy organised 7th Ayurveda Day. Cd'A Mr.N.Ram Prasad speaking on this year's theme"Ayurveda Every day, Ayurveda Everywhere(AEAE), outlined its importance. Prominnet speakers from India and Saudi Arabia spoke on different topics & urged all to adopt Ayurveda in daily life.

Mehfil-e-Qawwali

To commemorate Unity Day celebrations and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Embassy in collaboration with All India Steering Committe in Riyadh organised "Mehfil-e-Qawwali". Audience were enthralled by the performance of the famous band of Nizami Bandhu.

10th edition of Ambassador's Choice: International Film Festival

Celebration of Constitution Day 2022

Embassy of India celebrated the Constitution Day of India on 26 November 2022. Mr. M.R. Sajeev, Cd'A read out the Preamble of the Constitution along with other officials of the Mission, Indian community members and school children.The children from IISR & IIPSR presented speeches and skits on our Constitituon. Q&A session on the Constitution was also held. A photo exhibition on the life of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was also organised on the occasion.

30th Cluster meeting of CBSE schools

On 02 December 2022, Charge d’affaires N. Ram Prasad attended the closing ceremony of 30th Cluster meeting of CBSE schools in Saudi Arabia at IIS Jubail. Around 20 CBSE affiliated schools from the kingdom participated in the cluster meet. The closing ceremony witnessed cultural performances and enthusiastic participation of students, principals and prominent personalities from the Indian Community.

Yoddha Samman

On the Occassion of Armed Forces Flag day,Embassy organised a Yoddha Samman Event to honour/felicitate the Veterans residing in KSA.The first of its kind event included messages of Senior officials from Armed Forces,address by CdA'Mr Ram Prasad & experiences of the veterans.Consolidated veteran guidelines,advisories & mementos were presented to the veterans besides an overview of the latest policies by the Defence Attache. The event culminated with cultural programme by schoolchildren followed by interaction over dinner

Shaam-e-Ghazal

On 10 December 2022, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations Embassy of India organised a Shaam-e-Ghazal . Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'IL Champs fame Ms. Vasundhra Raturi gave a soulful rendition of famous Ghazals.Saudi Singer Ms. Reem & other Artists also sang melodious Hindi numbers.

India-Saudi Trade & Investment Meet

The Embassy in collaboration with Federation of Saudi Chambers organised India-Saudi Trade & Investment meet on 14 December 2022.CdA,Mr.N. Ramprasad & Chairman-SIBC Mr.Abdulaziz AlQahtani suggested the private entities to leverage emerging potential trade &investment opportunites in both nations.The event had participation of Invest India and CII, SIBC members and prominent Indian and Saudi businesspersons in the Kingdom.

40th anniversary celebrations of IIS Dammam.

Charge d’affaires N. Ram Prasad was chief guest at the celebrations of 40th anniversary celebrations of International Indian School Dammam on 17 December 2022. Students showcased various cultural performances including tribute to AKAM celebrations.Meritorious students and long serving teaching and non teaching staff members of IIS Dammam were felicitated during the event.

Musical evening with Ustaad Shujaat Husain Khan

On 14 January 2023, Embassy of India in collaboration with Saudi Chapter of CBSE Gulf Sahodaya organised musical evening with Ustaad Shujaat Husain Khan as part of AKAM. Charge d’affaires N. Ram Prasad was the chief guest for the event.Principals from CBSE affiliated schools in GCC along with Embassy officials and Indian diaspora in Saudi Arabia attended the event.

Meeting with Saudi-India Parliamentary Friendship Committee

On 25 January 2023, Ambassador Dr Suhel Khan, along with Embassy officers met with Saudi-India Parliamentary Friendship Committee at the Shura Council under the Chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Khaled Mohammed Albawardi. H.E. Chairman Albawardi welcomed the Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and wished him success for his tenure. They discussed various facets of the bilateral relationship and praised the strengthening Indo-Saudi Strategic Partnership. H.E. Chairman Albawardi also pointed out that India was an important partner for Saudi Arabia and both sides discussed several opportunity areas for increasing collaboration. They also agreed to increase Parliamentary exchanges between the two sides.Several other members of the Saudi-Indian Parliamentary Friendship Committee attended the meeting. They interacted and exchanged views with the Ambassador on ways to strengthen the Indo-Saudi Strategic Partnership in various areas like, tourism, trade, investments, pharmaceuticals etc.

India-Utsav and celebration of International Year of Millets

As pat of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan inaugurated India-Utsav at Lulu Hypermarket in Riyadh on 24 January 2023.The event featured a range of Indian products including spices, packed food items, fashion wear & cold storage products among other things.In celebration of the International Year of Millets, a special Wall of Millets was also launched highlighting varied types of millet grains and ready to eat millet products. The event was attended by Indian embassy officials, representatives from media houses, representatives of Lulu group, Saudi nationals, Indian diaspora, and expatriates in general.

74th Republic Day Celebrations 2023

On 26th January 2023, Embassy of India in Riyadh celebrated 74th Republic Day. Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan unfurled the National Flag and read out the address to the nation by Hon'ble President of India to the audience gathered for the celebrations. The event witnessed great enthusiasm and participation from Embassy officials and families, members of Indian diaspora, and representatives of media.As part of the celebrations, Students from International Indian Schools in Saudi Arabia performed Dances and Patriotic songs. Winners of AKAM Quiz were also felicitated during the event.

Pariksha Pe Charcha 2023

On 27th January 2023, under the guidance of Embassy of India in Riyadh all CBSE affiliated schools in Saudi Arabia actively and enthusiastically participated in the Hon’ble PM’s Pariksha Pe Charcha 2023. Hon’ble PM’s address and interactions during Pariksa Pe Charcha 2023 was virtually streamed in all school premises and students, parents, teachers, and members of Indian community attended the live streaming. Prior to Pariksha Pe Charcha 2023, students of International Indian School in Dammam made a promotional video, in which they expressed their views and thanked the Hon’ble PM for this great initiative.

ICCR Cultural troupe performance at IIS Riyadh

As part of the 74th Republic day celebrations 2023 and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations, ICCR sponsored contemporary and fusion dance Group, Om Shri Vinayaka Group, presented mesmerizing dance performances in International Indian School in Riyadh on 27 January 2023.The dance performances were attended by Embassy officials with their families, students, parents, teachers and members of India diaspora. The dance troupe was felicitated by the embassy officials.

74th Republic Day Reception

On 28th January 2023, Embassy of India in Riyadh hosted 74th Republic Day reception at Cultural palace in Diplomatic Quarter Riyadh. The occasion was graced by H.E. Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Sudairy, Undersecretary of Riyadh region, as the Chief Guest. The event witnessed participation from Ambassadors of different countries accredited to Saudi Arabia, members of diplomatic core, invited guests from various Saudi government ministries/departments and private organizations, members from Indian diaspora, and Indian embassy officials and their families. In his address to the gathering, Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan talked about the growing stature of India-Saudi bilateral relations in all spheres. He also mentioned about the recent visits which happened at high levels between India and Saudi Arabia. A special millets corner with innovative millet products was set up to mark the International Year of Millets. A painting & photography exhibition by various Indian artists & a display of traditional Indian textile & dresses was also organized during the reception. ICCR sponsored contemporary & fusion dance Group, Om Shri Vinayaka Group, mesmerized the audience with their dances on Indian & Arabic musical numbers.

Balabharathi Chithranjali

Embassy of India Riyadh in association with DISHA organized “Balabharathi Chitranjali” on 10th February 2023 at the Indian Embassy Multipurpose Hall. More than 100 children participated in the coloring and painting competition. Deputy Chief of Mission, Shri. N Ram Prasad was the chief guest and inaugurated the event. DISHA is a prominent cultural organization of the Indian community in Riyadh. DISHA Saudi National President Kanakalal KM chaired the function. In his address, DCM talked about the importance of harnessing creativity amongst children in order to improve their personality development. He added that such development would lead to them making valuable contributions to society in the future.

International Women’s Day 2023 Celebrations

The Embassy of India, in association with other diplomatic missions based in Riyadh, celebrated International Women's Day on March 8, 2023. The event had enthusiastic participation from diplomatic community, Saudi nationals, journalists, and members of the Indian community and expatriates of other nationalities. Ambassadors of Sri Lanka, Cuba, South Africa, Lebanon, Gambia, Algeria, Vietnam, EU etc. graced the occasion.The International Women's Day is celebrated by promoting 'Nari Shakti’ and to recognize exceptional work undertaken towards women empowerment. This day is marked every year by celebrating women's achievements, focusing on elimination of gender based violence and discrimination along with adopting innovative approaches to bring changes to the social, political, economic and cultural empowerment of women.The event was moderated by Mrs. Vijayalakshhmi Ram Prasad who traced the history of Women Empowerment in India after Independence. She also highlighted various government schemes to increase participation of Women in India in Education and Economic fields. She also highlighted the women led development being a central theme of India's G-20 Presidency.The event started with speeches and panel discussions by prominent speakers and panelist from India, Saudi Arabia and Australia. The speakers and panelists included, Mrs. Salma Naz Parwar Khan, educationalist and retired Principal from Kendriya Vidyalaya in India, Dr. Harbeen Arora Rai, Chancellor of Rai Group of Universities and Founder of ALL (All Ladies League) and WEF (Women Economic Forum), Mrs. Smitha Ramesh, nutritionist and Ms. Shushma Shan, a life coach and motivational speaker. They spoke about status of women in India and the contribution of Indian women in all walks of life, including economic activities and political landscape. Ms. Noor Nugali, Asst. Editor-in-chief of prominent English daily, Arab News spoke about the social transformation taking place in Saudi Arabia and growing participation of women in the economic activities. Mrs. Sofia Connelly, First Secretary, Embassy of Australia in KSA spoke about “Women in leadership position” in the Australian Foreign Ministry.The event also included variety of colorful cultural performances. Indian students from various schools presented a number of classical and popular cultural performances, including on Nari Shakti. School students from Sri Lanka presented cultural performances depicting cultural diversity of their country. A singer from Philippines presented songs. Ladies from the Indian Embassy also presented a fashion show, deprecating rich cultural diversity from states like UP, Punjab, TamilNadu, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Jharkhand.An Art exhibition depicting various themes of lady painters from India and Philippines was showcased. Sari and Indian costumes were also displayed. In keeping up the theme of International Year of Milltes, a Millet corner was set up and guests were served Millet based snacks. Sri Lankan and Philippine Embassy also served delicacies from their countries.Ambassador Dr Suhel Ajaz Khan presented mementos and certificates to all the participants.

Global Millets (Shree Anna) Conference 2023

Global Millets (Shree Anna) conference is being organised by Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India to celebrate International Year of Millets (IYM) 2023. The Embassy of India officials along with members of the Indian diaspora and other expatriates participated virtually in the inauguration of the Global Millets' Conference, on 18 March 2023, which was addressed by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi.The live streaming organized at the Mission was joined by Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan along with Embassy officials, representatives of Indian diaspora, media personals, and yoga enthusiasts.The Embassy showcased different types of Millets from India and presented Millets Brochures and Recipe Book. The gathering also enjoyed Millets Lunchbox in the end.

Commemoration of 200th Birth Anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati

On 12 February 2023, as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations and to commemorate 200th Birth Anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, Embassy of India in Riyadh in its auditorium, organised live streaming of the inauguration of 200th Jayanti celebrations of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, by Hon'ble Prime Minister. The live streaming was attented by Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan along with Embassy officials. Members of Indian community were also invited to the event. Addressing the gathering, the Hon'ble Prime Minister called the occasion of the 200th birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati historic, an occasion to create a future and inspiration for the entire world. Referring to  Maharishi Dayanand’s ideal of making the world a better place, the Prime Minister said in this era of discord, violence and instability, the path shown by Maharishi Dayanand gives hope. He also released a logo for commemoration.

Holi Celebrations 2023

On 08 March 2023,as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations under the theme 'Cultural Pride', Embassy of India in Riyadh celebrated Holi, the most colourful and vibrant festival of India with splash of colors, at the Embassy Multipurpose hall. The event was attended by Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H.E Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan as the chief guest. Deputy Chief of Mission. Shri. N. Ram Prasad and other Embassy officials along with their family members too participated in the Holi Celebration at Multipurpose hall.The atmosphere was marked with fun and fervor as the Embassy family celebrated this vibrant festival. Through the celebration, the Embassy family reiterated that Holi is a festival of new hope, new beginning and new opportunity.

Inauguration of Millet’s Week at Lulu Hypermarket

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, on 19 March 2023, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, Secretary (CPV&OIA) inaugurated Millet Week at local Lulu Hyper Market in Riyadh. The Embassy in association with Lulu Hyper Market in Saudi Arabia is organizing Millet Week as a follow up to Millet Conference organized in Delhi on March 18 which was inaugurated by Hon'ble PM.The event was attended by Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan along with Indian Embassy officials. Office bearers of Lulu Hyper Market in Saudi Arabia, media personals, and Saudi dignitaries also attended the event.During his inaugural speech, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, Secretary (CPV&OIA) mentioned about the health, economic and environmental benefits of millets. Secretary (CPV&OIA) also mentioned that India and Saudi Arabia are keen to broaden the millet collaboration through investment exchanges, research and development and establishing a value-chain for building a millet ecosystem.

Secretary’s (CPV&OIA) Community Reception at India House

On 19 March 2023, Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr Suhel Khan hosted a reception in honour of Secretary (CPV&OIA) Dr Ausaf Sayeed at India House in Riyadh. The reception was attended by Embassy officials and invited guests from Indian diaspora.During his address to the diaspora, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, Secretary (CPV&OIA) spoke about the progress in all spheres of India-Saudi Arabia relationship under the current leadership. He also mentioned about the progresses witnessed by the visit of Hon’ble EAM and Hon’ble CIM to Saudi Arabia under the ambit of Strategic Partnership Council (PSC).Secretary (CPV&OIA) also spoke about the growing nature of India-Saudi economic relations, bilateral defence ties/visits etc. Secretary (CPV&OIA) touched upon Ministry’s approach to Indian diaspora, including the ongoing schemes, policies, and priority areas.

Ambedkar Jayanti Celebrations at CBSE affiliated Schools in Saudi Arabia

On 14 April 2023, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations under the theme Unity, under the guidance of Embassy of India in Riyadh all CBSE affiliated schools in Saudi Arabia actively and enthusiastically participated in the Celebrations of Ambedkar Jayanti.The CBSE affiliated schools in Saudi Arabia, to commemorate Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s teachings and works, various competitions were conducted for students such as Poem writing, Essay writing, poster making, speech competition, skit, and paper presentations. Schools also screened documentaries to students to bring awareness about Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions.he winners and participating students were given medals and certificates by the respective schools.

Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations 2023 held at Embassy Multipurpose HAll

On 17 April 2023, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations under the theme of Unity, the Embassy of India in Riyadh organized a commemorative event in celebration of Ambedkar Jayanti. Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan spoke about the life and messages of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. A documentary film based on the life and message of Dr. Ambedkar was also screened during the event. Indian embassy officials along with the local staff of the embassy watched the documentary film on Dr. Ambedkar. The documentary screening was followed by a “Unity Iftar”, which was attended by all Embassy officials and local staff.

Live screening of 100th Episode of Man Ki Baath

As part of Azadi KaAmrit Mahotsav, the Embassy of India in Riyadh in association with CBSE affiliated schools in Saudi Arabia live screened the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat on 30 April 2023. Students, teachers, school staff members, and parents enthusiastically participated in the live screening. Mann Ki Baat is an Indian radio program hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he addresses the people of the nation on All India Radio, DD National and DD News. The PM highlighted the achievements of this program. He also mentioned the timeline of the program in the last nine years. The program was telecasted in multiple regional languages to have a wider reach of the program. It was also this time, that the program was telecasted globally.

Tagore Jayanti celebrations 2023 held in Saudi Arabia

On the glorious occasion of 75 years of India’s Independence being celebrated as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) all over India and by all our Missions/Posts abroad, the Embassy of India, Riyadh in association with International India Schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the theme ‘Unity’, organized Tagore Jayanti Celebrations 2023 on 07 May 2023. The event was organized at different International Indian Schools (IISs) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Students enthusiastically participated in various activities like painting, essay writing, poster designing, skit etc based on the life and works of Rabindra Nath Tagore. Winners of various competitions were felicitated by their respective schools.
