Cultural and Education Events; Media Interaction organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Warsaw (April 2021)

1) As a curtain raiser, Embassy of India organised virtual International Kavi Sammelan coordinated by ICCR Hindi Chair at the Warsaw University. A no. of poets/professors from around the globe participated in the event. 2) Ambassador participated in the “Diplomatic Coffee” LIVE TALK with the Centre for International Relations. 3) Online quiz questions on India@75 were posted on the social media handles of the Mission. 4) Online Essay competition on India in Modern World was organised.

Lithuania India@75 celebrations

Embassy of India Warsaw Press Release: India@75 in Lithuania To celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence, the Embassy of India is hosting an exhibition of paintings and photographs titled ‘India’s History in Architecture – Monuments and Churches of India’ at the Vilnius Town Hall from 9 to 19 November 2022. The exhibition, brought to Lithuania by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, comprises 24 paintings of selected Indian monuments by Kashinath Das, an eminent Indian artist, and of 24 photographs of selected churches of Goa by Benoy Behl, a well-known photographer and art historian.

Celebrations in Poland of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav continued with the inauguration of an exhibition of paintings and photographs entitled India’s History in Architecture – Monuments and Churches of India in Wroclaw City Museum on 30th May, 2022

Inauguration of Special India@75 Train in Wroclaw, Poland

To launch the celebrations of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in Poland, Mr. Jacek Sutryk, Mayor of Wroclaw and Ambassador Nagma M. Mallick flagged off a special tram in Wroclaw on 30th May, 2022. The vibrantly-coloured tram was decorated with the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav logo on the outside and had photographs of Indian leaders, monuments and symbols on the inside. The tram bears the name ‘Dobry Maharaja’ or the good Maharajas as it is named after the Maharajas of Jamnagar and Kolhapur who, during the 2nd World War, gave refuge to around 6000 Polish people.

Visit of DPIIT Delegation to Poland (June 2022)

The DPIIT-CII delegation headed by Ms Sumita Dawra, Additional Secretary, Department of Industry and Trade, Government of India visited Poland in June 2022 and met a number of important Polish investors in India. Following are the highlights of the visit: (1) The delegation attended the Argus East Europe Fertiliser Conference on 22nd June, 2022. Ambassador, CII, Invest India &Tata Chemicals spoke on opportunities in India for European investors; (2) The delegation made detailed presentations on investment opportunities in India to members of the Polish Chambers of Commerce & of Chemical Companies in Warsaw in collaboration with the Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce & Industry on 23rd June, 2022; (3) Useful discussions on deepening India-Poland economic ties, especially promoting investment and manufacturing in India, were held between officials of the Ministry of Economic Development of Poland and Polish Agency for Investment and Trade and the DPIIT-CII delegation on 24th June, 2022. (4) Meeting with the largest Polish investor into India Mr J Josefowicz of TZMO, in Toruń on 25th June, 2022. Expanding investment in the sanitary products and logistics and warehousing sectors in India were discussed. (5) The DPIIT-led delegation promoting investment and Amb Nagma M Mallick held talks with Ms Irena Rej, President, Farmacja Polska, Polish Chamber of Pharma companies on 25th June, 2022.
