Online Certificate Course, Media Interactions and Art & Cultural events during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations organised by EoI, Muscat (April 2021)

i) Organisation of an online Certificate Course on Mahatma Gandhi’s Philosophy conducted by Dr. Shobhana Radhakrishna, Chief Functionary, Gandhian Forum for Ethical Corporate Governance, New Delhi, in Oman. (20 to 10 April 2021). ii) Ambassador interacted with all HoDs of Yoga organisations on 8th April virtually and briefed them about Amrit Mahotsav and sought their views on the celebration of IDY 2021. iii) Muscat Gujarati Samaj of Indian Social Club, Oman in association with Indian Embassy, Muscat presented "Folk Dance" virtually. (09 April 2021). iv) Ambassador launched the world’s first gamified Sanskrit learning App “Little Guru” virtually (22 April 2021). It was followed by showing a video message by DG, ICCR and a short animated video on Little Guru App. There was also recitation of a song in Sanskrit by a student. v) Embassy of India, Muscat in collaboration with Rangrez, the artist group of Indian Social Club, Oman hosted a virtual exhibition on 24 April, 2021. The exhibition was titled “Figure It Out” and curated by Ms. Tarini Agarwal supported by Ms. Sushmita Gupta of Rangrez. A total of 39 resident Indian artists exhibited 48 Figurative Paintings in the exhibition. vi) Telugu Wing of Indian Social Club, Oman on 30 April 2021, organised Ugadi Utsavam.

Art and Cultural Events organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Muscat ( May 2021)

1. Annual Art Competition was organised by the Tamil Wing of the Indian Social Club of Oman on 07 May. Children of all age groups participated in the event 2. A Fancy dress competition "Rich Indian Costumes" was organised by Tamil Wing of Indian Social Club on 21 May in association with Indian Embassy, as part of India@75 events. 3. A virtual art exhibition ‘Mini May’ was organised by Rangrez, the Artist Group of Indian Social Club of Oman on 22 May in association with Indian Embassy as part of India@75 events. The theme revolved around the famous artists who were born in the month of May. 4. Mission organized a panel discussion on “Culinary Traditions of India” on 24 May to commemorate the World Culture Day as part of India@75 events. The panelist included prominent chefs, restaurateurs, hospitality experts, food bloggers, & influencers who shared their insights on cuisine culture and its influences.

Ugadi Festival and Telangana Formation Day and Cultural, Exhibition organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Muscat (June 04-26, 2021)

1. An entertainment program, E-Antakshari 2021 was organised by the Hindi Wing of Indian Social Club, Muscat in association with Embassy under India@75. 2. The Telangana Wing of Indian Social Club, Muscat organized the virtual celebration of Ugadi Festival and Telangana Formation Day in association with Embassy under India@75. The program included singing of patriotic songs, folk songs, dances, skits quiz, shlokas, etc. 3. Rangrez, the artist group of Indian Social Club, Oman in association with the Embassy organized a virtual exhibition ‘Hues of Harmony’. The exhibition was part of celebrations of India@75. The main theme of the exhibition was co-existence with nature. 44 paintings were displayed, which included paintings by 33 Indian artists and 4 Omani artists.

Flag Hoisting Ceremony

The Embassy building was lit up in tricolour on the eve of Independence Day. A flag hoisting ceremony was organized in the Embassy in the morning of 15th August in hybrid format owing to COVID19 restrictions. Embassy officials and staff attended the event physically from the Embassy, and it was telecast live, enabling Indian community to join the celebration virtually.

Patriotic Poetry Video Blogging Competition

A Patriotic Poetry Video Blogging Competition was organized by Embassy in the run-up to Independence Day, which saw overwhelming response from Indian diaspora. The Indian community in Oman also enthusiastically participated in the Rashtragaan initiative to celebrate Amrit Mahotsav.

Board of Directors - Indian Schools in Oman in association with the Embassy organized a grand virtual celebration on 12th August 2021

Board of Directors - Indian Schools in Oman in association with the Embassy organized a grand virtual celebration on 12th August to launch Amrit Mahotsav across all Indian Schools in Oman. A tag-line 'My India, My Pride' and e-book containing 75 shades of Indian Art depicting the rich cultural diversity of India was also launched during the event. A logo making competition, quiz competition, collage making competition on 75 iconic buildings in India and painting competition was organized by Indian School Muscat as part of launch of Amrit Mahotsav in Indian Schools.

Indian Social Club in association with the Embassy organized a Virtual Mega Cultural Event - 16 August 2021

Indian Social Club in association with the Embassy organized a Virtual Mega Cultural Event in the evening of 16th August to celebrate Amrit Mahotsav. His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Harthy – Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs was the Chief Guest for the event.

Quiz Competition on the theme of India@75 - 13th August

The Embassy, in association with various community organizations has organized several events since March 2021 to celebrate Amrit Mahotsav including Quiz competitions, Cultural events, Art exhibitions, and panel discussions. The Malayalam wing of ISC organized a quiz competition on the theme of India@75 on 13th August. A virtual art exhibition highlighting Indian culture was organized by Rangrez art group of ISC on 14th August.
