IDY Celebrations organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Vientiane (June 13-26, 2021)
1. The Embassy organized a curtain raiser with a Yoga session conducted by the Isha Foundation of India virtually. His Excellency Mr Bountiem Phissamay, President of the Lao– India Friendship Association and more than 40 people participated in the online event. 2. The Embassy organised a Yoga session in collaboration with Indian Yoga Studio, Vientiane. His Excellency Mr. Bounneme Chouanghom, Ambassador of Lao PDR to India, and more than 30 participants joined the event virtually. 3. The Embassy and the Government of Lao PDR jointly celebrated the 7th International Day of Yoga (IDY) with the theme “Yoga for Wellness” in hybrid mode. The event was organised at Chao Anuovong Stadium, Vientiane. His Excellency, Associate Prof. Dr. Phout Simmalavong, Minister of Education and Sports; His Excellency Mr. Bountiem Phissamy, President, Lao-India Friendship Association; and Her Excellency Mrs. Khanthaly Siriphongphan, Vice Minister of Education and Sports graced the celebrations with their presence. More than 100 people including government officials and members of Indian diaspora also attended the event. Many more joined the event virtually
Screening of Documentariesorganised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Vientiane(April 06, 2021)
The Mission organised a screening of two documentaries titled “ The Way of the Buddha” and “The Land of Buddha”, dubbed into Lao, on 06 April 2021, at the premises of Kaysone Phomvihane Academy of National Defence (KAND), Lao PDR in Vientiane. His Excellency Major General Onesy Saensouk, Deputy Minister of National Defence presided over the occasion.
