Celebration of Independence Day of India

The #75IndependenceDay was celebrated at the India House with great fervour & enthusiasm. Amb. Dr. Neena Malhotra unfurled the National Flag & read the message of Hon'ble President of India's address to the nation. A cultural performance by Embassy officials and their family members along with Bhangra dance was also held under the theme #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav

An Indian weekend at the Arena of Casa del Cinema in Rome (September 25 and 26)

As part of the celebration of Azadi ka Amit Mahotsav and and within the framework of SRIJAN- the festival of India in Italy, a two day Indian film festival was organized at Casa del Cinema in Rome on September 25 and 26, 2021. The Indian weekend was inaugurated by an enchanting dance performance by Svamini Atmananda Giri, of Italian Hindu Union, who received standing ovation from the public. The cultural introduction was followed by the screening of the epic film Bahubali 1, with Italian subtitles. The second day of the festival saw the screening of a widely acclaimed bollywood movie, Queen. The screenings were attended by a large group of enthusiasts both locals as well as Indian diaspora and students. Among the authorities and representatives of local intelligentsia who graced the occasion, there was also EU Special Representative for the Sahel and Former Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs and MP of Italy Hon’ble Emanuela Del Re.
