Film screening and webinar event during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by HCI, Georgetown (March 2021)

i) Screening of a documentary on ‘Patachitra – a film on the art of scroll painting practiced by village folks across India’. ii) A webinar talk on ‘Indian miniatures’ followed by screening of his film ‘Poetry of the Hills’. iii) A webinar was held on “Importance of Teaching Sanskrit in Ireland\c Influence and Philosophy”. iv) Webinar with Indian film actor Ankur Vikal on ‘The Film Journey – Trials and Tribulations’. v) Film Division’s presentation ‘Folk paintings – A film on the varied and rich folk paintings of Orissa and the dedicated work of folk painters’ was screened.

Launch of Sanskrit app "Little Guru", Events of Indian Art & Culture , Sports and Bilateral Relationship organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Dublin (April 02-21, 2021)

(1) On the occasion of India@75, Embassy organised a virtual exhibition of artworks by Indian artists in Dublin titled 'Rang' in alignment with Embassy's commitment to the arts. Event was co-partnered with Dublin Desi Artists Collective. Ambassador addressed the opening of the event. Embassy also sponsored the event prizes (02 Apr 2021). (2) Ambassador greeted the Odia community in Ireland on the occasion of Odisha Day and participated in virtual celebrations (04 April 2021). (3) Embassy organised the virtual launch of 'Little Guru', world's first Gamified Sanskrit learning app. Guest speakers for the event were Rutger Kortenhorst, winner of ICCR World Sanskrit Award 2020; Dy. Mayor Councillor David McManus, South Dublin County Council; Praghosha Dasa, ISKCON and Sudhansh Verma, Director of Vedic Hindu Culture Centre of Ireland (12 Apr 2021). (4) Ambassador greeted the communities and participated in the virtual celebrations of Ugadi, Naba Borsho, Rongali Bihu and Puthandu organised by Ireland Telegu Samjam, Irish Bengali community, Assam Society of Ireland and Ireland Tamil Sangam, respectively. In his greetings, Ambassador emphasized the role of festivals in showcasing the rich culture, tradition and heritage of India and manifesting the quintessential Indian ethos of ‘Unity in Diversity’ (5) Embassy organised ‘In Conversation with Ambassador’ Series with stars of Irish National Cricket -Andrew Balbirnie, Kevin O'Brien & Simi Singh, with the aim of enhancing cricketing ties between India and Ireland and leveraging medium of cricket to further bilateral relationship (21 April 2021).

World Environment Day celebrations, Virtual screening of documentaries and IDY Celebrations organised during Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations by EoI, Dublin (June 01-30, 2021)

1. To celebrate India@75, prominent Yoga videos taken from MEA webpage were posted on Embassy's social media platforms; 2. Embassy organised World Environment Day competition "Build your own home decorations & toys from recycled materials"; 3. To mark World Environment Day, Indian Embassy partnered with Dublin City Council to clean up Sandymount beach, part of Dublin Bay UNESCO Bioshere; 4. The Mission campaigned for IDY-2021 by publishing Embassy personnel’s photographs with different yogic postures in its social media platforms for 9 days, leading to the main event; 5. A quiz on Yoga was organised and 3 winners were given prizes 6. Quiz contest around Sanskrit & Yoga by ICCR in association with Little Guru was promoted through Embassy’s social media platforms; 7. An essay competition was organised on ‘How yoga has helped me to cope mentally with the effects of Covid-19’; 8. International Day of Yoga-21, which was celebrated by the Embassy, was dedicated to the scientific community in Ireland, India, and in the world in salutation of the remarkable work done towards development and roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccine in record time; 9. Prime Minister Modi’s Address on 7th International Day of Yoga was shared on Embassy’s social media platforms; 10. mYoga App, which has jointly been developed by WHO and Ministry of AYUSH, was promoted through Embassy’s social media platforms ; 11. Virtual screening of Films Division’s ‘Kailash at Ellora’ was held which showed the grandeur of the rock-cut carvings of the Kailash temple in the Ellora caves; Virtual screening of Films Division’s ‘Flying Sikh’ was held which paid tribute to Shri Milkha Singh.
