Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri V. Murleedharan led a delegation of senior officials from Ministry of External Affairs to Bengaluru for the State outreach event under the Videsh Sampark series organised on 26 February 2020 in Bengaluru.
Hon’ble Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs, Legislation and Minor Irrigation, Government of Karnataka Shri J.C. Madhu Swamy led delegation from Government of Karnataka, comprising of senior officials of the State Government and industry representatives.
Recruiting agencies, other stakeholders from Karnataka and media participated.
Ministry of External Affairs organised the State outreach event at Bengaluru in partnership with the Government of Karnataka under the Videsh Sampark programme. Shri V. Murleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs and Shri J.C. Madhu Swamy, Minister
of Law of Karnataka delivered keynote addresses during the inaugural session.
The event featured in-depth dialogue to enhance awareness among stakeholders and officials of the State Government about Ministry’s programmes, schemes and initiatives with regard to consular, passport and diaspora issues to provide safe and legal migration.
A new initiative featured presentations on trade and investment issues. Through interactive sessions with a range of stakeholders, the sessions provided an opportunity to brain-storm on how the State Government and Ministry could strengthen coordination to
address issues pertaining to these areas, streamline procedures and share best practices.
The Ministry plans to organize several events in cooperation with different State Governments in the coming months.
