Dr. Sumeet Jerath is an IAS officer of the 1985 batch – Assam Cadre. He has about thirty three years of administrative experience working in both the State and the Central Government. He served as Deputy Commissioner of Karimganj and Cachar districts in
Assam and also worked as the Guwahati Municipal Commissioner. He has worked in Economic and Infrastructure Ministries in both the State and Central Government – Steel, Power, Economic Affairs(Finance), Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises and Commerce at
various levels. He also worked as Director – Tea Board of India in Embassy of India in Russian Federation, Moscow for three years.
