E-workshop on Export Control

​Ministry of External Affairs, in cooperation with the Indian Chamber of Commerce, organised an E-workshop on Export Controls for enhancing awareness about regulations for export of sensitive, dual-use goods and technology on 18 September 2020. About seventy industries and enterprises participated in the workshop which was addressed by the Ministry of External Affairs, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Defence, Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, and experienced industry representatives.

​The workshop shared the importance and benefits of export control systems in terms of India’s economic growth and integration with the global economy, foreign investment and technology linkages, national security interests, international non-proliferation obligations and Government’s flagship initiatives of ‘Make in India’, ‘Make for World’ and ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat’. The presentations and discussions covered the laws, regulations, processes, implementation mechanisms as well as the importance of industry education & compliance towards a sound export control system to uphold India’s impeccable non-proliferation record acknowledged globally.

​The workshop was part of ongoing industry outreach endeavours of the Government of India towards a well-established national export control system in line with global standards.
