Prime Minister Modi met H.E. Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic on the sidelines of the High Level Segment of the UNGA 74 on September 27, 2019.
PM congratulated PM Mitsotakis on his assuming the position of Prime Minister.
PM Modi recalled the successful State visit of Hon’ble President of India to Greece in June last year. Both leaders reviewed the state of bilateral relations and discussed steps to intensify political, economic and people to people exchanges. Prime Minister
congratulated Greece for the success of Thessaloniki International Fair 2019 where India was invited as the Honored Country. Both leaders while commending the present status of relationship, committed to forge a stronger economic, trade and investment partnership
between the two countries.
They also discussed global and regional issues of mutual interest, including the need to fight international terrorism globally. PM Modi thanked PM Mitsotakis for Greece’s support to India following the Pulwama terror attacks. PM Modi was invited by Greece
PM to visit India at a mutually convenient date.
