ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
[SHRI V. MURALEEDHARAN]

(a) to (d) Yes. In August 2012, London Metropolitan University was banned by UK Home office from sponsoring non-EU students due to systematic failure in its monitoring of overseas students. Ban was revoked in 2013. Indian students have resumed their admission in academic sessions since then. The number of Indian students studying at present in this University and the total amount paid by them is a fiduciary matter and not available in public domain. The official website of High Commission of India, London has a link to the web page under 'Information for Students' to check whether UK University of College can award a degree or not.

(e) Indian Missions/Posts closely coordinate with local authorities and universities and provide all possible assistance to Indian students through student module of MADAD portal, social media platforms, open house events and direct interactions with senior officers. They also remain in touch with Indian student Associations and University administrations. In case of any distress, students may be assisted under Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF) as well. The Ministry issues relevant advisories from time to time to help students.
