ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
[SHRI V. MURALEEDHARAN]
(a) to (d) At present, two Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) are functioning in Bihar. The Ministry in association with the Department of Posts decided in January 2017 to open Passport Kendras at the Head Post Offices (HPO)/ Post Offices (PO) in the country called
‘Post Office Passport Seva Kendra’ (POPSK). Under this initiative, there are 33 POPSK in Bihar. The list of PSK and POPSK in Bihar is placed at
Annexure-I.
The opening of Passport Kendras in various States, including Bihar is an on-going activity and depends on various factors, including distance from the existing Passport Kendras and volume of applications from a particular region.
