FOREIGN AID FOR ANDHRA PRADESH
2012. SHRI KANAKAMEDALA RAVINDRA KUMAR:
Will the Minister of External Affairs be pleased to state:
(a) whether Government received any consignment of foreign aid as relief during the COVID-19 pandemic across the country;
(b) if so, details thereof;
(c) whether Government has allocated such foreign aid to the State of Andhra Pradesh in the month of April, May and June, 2021 as a relief to be given to Covid affected patients;
(d) if so, the details thereof;
(e) whether Government has noticed/come across instances of misuse/misappropriation of such relief received from foreign entity by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh; and
(f) if so, the details thereof and action taken in this regard?
ANSWER

(a) & (b) In the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic during the second wave, various COVID related health equipment and medicines were received from foreign governments, private companies, Indian associations abroad, etc. The available details of foreign consignments received from 52 countries from April 2021 till date is placed at APPENDIX-1.
(c) & (d) The available details of foreign consignments allocated to Andhra Pradesh are placed at APPENDIX 2.
(e) & (f) No information of misuse/misappropriation by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh of such consignments received from foreign countries has been received.
